The trail will be two to three meters wide and covered with aggregate (gravel)
The final route will be developed in partnership with the community and the land owners.
Maintenance and civil liability will be assumed by Cap-Acadie and the Regional Services Commission.
Cap-Acadie is currently in the planning and development phase of the project which will be part of the Trans Canada Trail national network.
Research in Canada and the United States has shown that residences are safer along a trail because of increased traffic and visual exposure.
You will all be able to walk safely away from the main road with easy access to the trail. You will be able to go from Boudreau-Ouest to Shemogue as well as to parks, beaches, schools, stores, in complete confidence.
According to real estate association statistics, property values increase and homes sell faster near a trail. It also contributes to the image of the community.
The Cap-Acadie Route
The inclusive Cap-Acadie trail will connect all communities from Boudreau-Ouest to Shemogue. It will be an important part of the trail system planned to connect southeastern New Brunswick and all of its tourist attractions.
The route will be identified to maximize the views and access to the natural beauties of the region while minimizing the impact on the ecological and on the citizen’s properties.
The route map will be posted as soon as possible.
The Shore-Line Trail
The 170 km Shore-Line Trail will connect 6 municipalities and more than 150,000 residents in southeastern New Brunswick. This trail will connect a large number of touristic attractions, for example: Aboiteau Beach, Parlee Beach, Hopewell Rocks, Fundy National Park, etc.
This important passive transportation infrastructure will be a major tourism asset and product that can showcase culture and history and be a catalyst for small businesses in the region.
